Gastro-Physics And Dietary Anti-Matter
September 1, 2010
Do a little people-watching, next time you’re in the grocery line. There’s always someone with a cart, bulging with every conceivable kind of diet food. Flats of turkey bacon prop listlessly against the fat free half & half and Olestra cookies. At first glance, this is clearly someone who is completely health conscious, diet minded, and watching what they eat.
But peek beneath the basket to the lower rack ? where you normally find dog food, kitty litter, and toxic chemicals ? and you will see the full case of Mountain Dew. Diet foods and junk foods, rubbing wrappers in the very same cart might suggest mental illness, delusional optimism, or some other form of brain strain.
However, unbeknownst to the rest of us, these folks are actually brilliant physicists, cleverly disguised as profoundly confused shoppers, so as not to attract any attention. They throw you off their trail with very characteristic behaviors, like chasing a candy bar with a Diet Coke.
Yes, we can now release the fact that these scientists are members of the little know branch of their field known as gastro-physics, and they are actually testing a high-level theory regarding matter and anti-matter. Just as matter can be annihilated by anti-matter, they show how calories can be eliminated, obliterated, and just forgotten about altogether if you just consume them with their Universal opposite.
What Is Fat Burning Food and 5 Ways To Implement It Into Your Diet
August 27, 2010
Many people (especially on the net) claim that you can eat fat burning food exclusively and lose weight. While I do support the idea that it’s not how much you eat when trying to lose weight, its what you eat - I do not support the idea that if you eat a lot of strawberries almost to the exclusion of other foods, that you will lose weight. In fact I have heard stories where people have actually done this, eaten a lot of strawberries and pineapple because their friend said that they would help them lose weight, only to find that they’d gained weight.
Unfortunately, it’s just not true that you can eat a certain food and it will help you to lose weight. There are foods such as nuts, tea, milk and medium chain triaclyglycerols and diaclyglycerols (dietary fats) that they are researching at the moment that could be considered functional foods for weight maintenance and prevention of obesity but at the moment no conclusive evidence exists1.
Of Super Mice and Supermen- and the Magic Apples of Avalon
August 24, 2010
Recently, a Japanese study showed dramatic results of organ fat loss and increased muscle strength, in test rats fed rare phytochemicals from baby green apple skins.
Without additional vitamins or supplements, these rats lost 27% of their internal organ fat — “belly fat” in you and me– and increased in muscle strength by 16%, in just three weeks. Should these findings translate to humans, we could be looking at a true health breakthrough of the new century.
Belly fat in mice and men is a signature of aging. The body deposits additional fat around the organs and raises blood levels of cholesterol in response to uncontrolled oxidative stress (aging) in the organism, because body fat and blood fat are the natural protectors of every cell in our bodies.
Exercise, which elevates human growth hormone, was the only proven way to reduce organ fat before the discovery of the remarkable water-soluble polyphenols given to these test animals.
What could this mean for you? It means that a concentrated natural apple extract, with no side effects, may reverse some of the aging markers in the human body. It is also worth noting that every drug which is given to humans has first shown its effectiveness and safety in mice and rats.
Why Breakfast is Good for You
August 20, 2010
Ok… If you are reading this is because you do want to hear the “why breakfast is good for you” sermon.
Well, you may have read it in the paper, or maybe you’ve heard it on the radio on your way to work. It’s almost a cliche! Almost everybody knows that “breakfast is the most important meal of the day”.
If it’s so good… how come many people skip breakfast?
People do. There are lots of excuses for not having breakfast, including (but not limited to):
Lack of time
not being a morning person
trying to lose weight
Not finding anything good for breakfast, and
having forgotten to have it
A while ago I used to skip breakfast too.
Later on I would have “whatever”, and then a very heavy lunch (depending on how hungry I would be by lunch time).
But when I started paying attention to what I ate (and how and how much), I realised the damage I was causing to my body by skipping the most important meal of the day.
What happens to our bodies when we skip breakfast?
How To Improve Your Health In 14 Days: Small Changes For Maximum Health & Weight Loss
August 17, 2010
Many Americans include health improvement in their New Year’s Resolutions. But real life intrudes, and we find ourselves facing the fact that our plans for reshaping our lives and health were a bit too much to manage in the face of the rest of our busy lives. However, small changes can be as effective as large ones - much less intimidating - and result in long-term improvements in your health.
Here are two week’s worth of small changes and activities that can improve your health. While these are written with people in an office in mind, they can be adapted to outdoor work or full-time parenting.
Day 1: Identify your Junk-Food-Hour. Put an index card in wallet or purse. Keep track of times at which you’re most likely to hit the candy machine or potato chip stash, that one thing that frustrates your good eating habits. For many of us, it’s mid-afternoon, though it may be at 1 a.m.! Track yourself for a week.
Day 2: Have a Green Day. Whether you buy lunch out or make it, see if you can include a green veggie each day. If you’ve got kids, they can have fun picking out new green food (nope, green gelatin doesn’t count!)
Carbohydrates: Why Size Matters
August 13, 2010
If I collected a dime for each time I’ve seen or heard the word "carbohydrate" - or picked up a book on the subject, for that matter - I’d be a wealthy woman. And of course we’ve all heard the buzzwords: simple carb; complex carb; high carb; low carb; no carb. But do we really know what a carbohydrate is? And are carbs really as bad and fattening as we’re told they are?
In this article, I’ll make my best attempt to unveil the mystery of the carbohydrate - and why it’s gotten such a bad rap. After all, it’s the molecule both scientists and nutritionists know is the main source of the body’s energy.
BASIC CHEMISTRY:
First the boring stuff. The basic chemistry of a carbohydrate. I’ll keep it brief: Carbohydrates contain a carbon atom attached to water molecules. This is important because it’s the structure and size of a carbohydrate which influences the speed by which it’s converted into glucose (sugar) and then into energy.
WHY ARE CARBS USEFUL?
Before we take a look at the different "sizes" of carbohydrates, let’s look at why they are useful to us. Aside from supplying the body’s energy, carbs are also useful for the proper functioning of internal organs, as well as proper function of the muscles and nervous system.
Lipo Boom Reality
August 8, 2010
Are you feeling down and out? Do you feel even worse when you look in the mirror? Cosmetic surgeons tell us you are not alone. They say the popularity of reality television shows like ABC TV’s "Extreme Makeover" has led to an increasing boom in cosmetic surgery. You may be one of the many people who are not happy with the way you look. Look in the mirror right now and tell me what you see. Do you see flabby thighs, a sagging chin or a tubby tummy? If so, then liposuction could be just what the doctor ordered.
Liposuction is also known in the medical arena as lipoplasty or "lipo" for short. Lipo surgically removes excess fat from deposits beneath the skin in many areas of the body. The procedure sounds like it hurts. Surgeons use a hollow stainless steel tube called a cannula. The cannula is hooked up to a vacuum. It is inserted into an incision in the skin. Fat deposits are then gently sucked out of the body.
Mesotherapy vs. Cellulite For A Knockout
August 5, 2010
In the battle to look good, there’s a cosmetic treatment that is going a few rounds with cellulite and small fatty deposits. Mesotherapy is knocking out fat and rejuvenating skin in people who give it a try. Chances are you’re doing everything that you can to cut away cellulite and small fatty deposits. You’re watching what you eat. You’re using creams and lotions. But, nothing is working, right? Well, that’s because cellulite is the heavy-hitting problem facing men and women alike. It is one of the hardest cosmetic problems to get rid of!
Gweneth Lowe is the mother of two children. She has been in the ring with fat for about five years. She works out in a gym three times a week for an hour. Still, she could not get rid of the fat in her problem area. Her thighs. 10 sessions with mesotherapy has given her the relief she’s been working out for. Lowe says, "I’ve lost about three inches from my hips. My thighs have shrunk. I’m down to a dress size 6 and loving it!"
Lose Weight - Find Hidden Calories
August 2, 2010
If it seems that you have been eating as usual and the pounds seem to be creeping on - you could be a victim of hidden calories.
When we are busy, stressed or focused on something else we reach for convenient snacks that are usually high in fat. This unconscious eating will add up to a whole of extra calories in the course of a day or week. This mindless eating is nothing more than a habit that can be broken.
To get this habit under control write down everything you eat for the next 3 weeks ? everything! Be on guard for those times when you are more susceptible to unconscious eating.
At work:
- You find bowls of candy on coworkers’ desks
- Your coworkers bring in doughnuts and pastries
- Office gatherings ? where you will always lots of fatty food
At home:
- You’re cooking dinner and sample the food ? these calories add up
- Your children don’t eat all their food ? you eat that too ? more calories
- While talking on the phone ? there goes how many cookies?
- When you are worried
- When you are happy

From Now On, Europe Focuses On Dieting Pills
July 28, 2010
A state of emergency has been recently put on European Union agenda. In the next ten years, European countries will be “on diet”. The EU countries have to manage an alarming situation: high rate of obesity and overweight. It seems that all America’s weight-loss problems along with diets and any kind of dieting pills crossed the Ocean.
European countries borrowed bad habits from Americans
Along with foods, Americans have brought the whole picture to the “Old continent”: fad diets and related-weigh loss problems, dieting pills and dietary supplements. According to International Obesity Task Force, the prevalence of obesity has grown by up by 10 to 40 percent in most European countries from 1993 to 2003. It is an alarming statement. 30% of people living in the European Union are overweight and more than one in ten is now obese, according to EASO.
Not surprisingly, a war against obesity has started recently. European officials are worried specifically about childhood obesity since children with “weight problems” are three to five times more likely to suffer a heart attack or even stroke before the age of 65. Although this problem is not as urgent as the American issue, the forecasts are ruthless.
