God Is My Boss

God Is My Boss
by: Lisa Natoli
I just figured everyone talked to God.
All my life I could sense there was a world beyond the one I could see with my eyes. I lived in a world of fantasy, and had many conversations with my host of “imaginary” friends. I spent a lot of time alone, and felt more comfortable in the presence of these invisible characters than I did with my friends and family.
I started to lose my hearing at the age of 8, and because I had difficulty hearing what anyone was saying to me, I spent even more time by myself reading, fantasizing and daydreaming.

3 Ways Going with the Flow Will Make You Fat - And What To Do About It!
April 29, 2007
Wanna know the truth? If you’re going to be slim, you’re going to have to swim against the current. You’re going to have to take charge of your body and make your own decisions?cause if you go with the flow today, I guarantee that you’re going to be fat.
Here are 3 reasons why:
#1) Rampant Portion Sizes
‘Supersize it’, ‘Biggie Fries’, ‘Value Meal’, ‘Super Big Gulp’ ? phrases that we use so commonly, it’s hard to believe that we’d have to explain what they mean to someone from another era.
Restaurants have blown their portion sizes so big in the name of providing ‘value’ that one meal could feed a small soccer team.
Considering that your stomach is roughly the size of your fist (but thank goodness it stretches!), the portion sizes you get today in the average restaurant could probably fill 5 or more stomachs.
But we’re told to get our money’s worth right? So go ahead and eat up. That way you can spend your money going to the doctor for obesity related health problems later. That’s truly getting your money’s worth!
The SMART Way to Set Goals

The SMART Way to Set Goals
by: Jude Wright
Goal setting is equal parts art and science. Many people create goals that simply don’t work. If you’re in business, you don’t have the luxury of creating goals that don’t work. You need to work effectively and you need goals you help you do it.
Here is a great way to create good goals that work that keep you on track. They’re called SMART goals and the acronym SMART will help you to remember the things that each goal needs to be:
* Specific: Your goal needs to be stated in a way that is clearly defined. Saying, I should work more, is not a goal that will be kept. However, saying, I am going to work a total of 8 hours each day, is a goal that is much clearer and specific.
* Measurable: This is closely related to the above attribute except that it also includes a way to make sure you are on track. A goal that says, I want to make more money, isn’t measurable. However, a goal that says, I want to earn $6000/month, is a far more measurable goal. It’s easy to see, at the end of the month, whether or not you achieved it.

Lets be honest, people are always searching for new weight loss tips because they want to lose pounds and they want immediate results, but this is just wishful thinking.
To lose weight permanently and effectively it will be a rather slow progress, all depending on your metabolic rate and how much you need to lose.
There are however some proven tried and true weight loss tips for aiding in the weight loss process, and I can make you familiar with them.
Whining Your Way To Health, Happiness & Prosperity With EFT

Whining Your Way To Health, Happiness & Prosperity With EFT
by: Silvia Hartmann
It’s such a struggle having to be positive all the time.
Having a good attitude. Seeing the bright side to everything. Life’s hard enough as it is and when that becomes apparent, sometimes it really *is* right and proper to really express yourself.
You know, emotions build up. Or should I say, energies build up. And up. It is just like a pressure beginning to rise - hardly noticeable at first, then more and more. The pressure grows, the energy gets denser and tighter. And then there comes the point where the energy body needs to have this pressure removed or else it seriously starts to hurt, seriously starts to unbalance body and mind - and that’s why and when people blow their tops, start shouting or the tears begin to flow.
Of course, the reason for this is a blockage in the energy system, a stopper in the flow that causes the normal energy flow to back up and creates this pressure scenario. When you take out the blockages, the energy rushes through and out and phew - what a relief! That’s when people say, “Oh that’s so strange, that feeling isn’t there anymore - I feel fine now!”
My Search for the Truth
April 25, 2007
I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. Maybe you’ve heard about the persecution of Falun Dafa (or Falun Gong) practitioners in China. Over the past five years, many people have been committed to mental institutions, tortured, detained, imprisoned, and even killed, simply for refusing to give up this practice. Unfortunately, most Americans don’t know about this situation, or they’ve been given a negative impression, and so the persecution goes on. My intention is to give my impression of Falun Dafa, and hopefully, bring an awareness of this situation to the people of this country–a country that was founded on the basis of religious and spiritual freedom.
All of my life, I have been searching for answers to all of life’s most fundamental questions: Why am I here? What is the purpose of life? Why do bad things happen to good people? Who is God? Why does He allow all of this?
As a child and again as a teenager, I searched for the answers in Christianity, and even though I sensed wisdom and truth in the teachings of Jesus–being honest, loving thy neighbor, turning the other cheek–there seemed to be something missing. Maybe something got lost in the translation.
Keep the Tension Tight

Keep the Tension Tight
by: Jeff Earlywine
During the 2006 winter Olympics, Lindsey Jacobellis was alone in the clear, and could have practically crawled to the finish line and won. After an Olympic-sized flub, she probably wishes she had. Coasting to what should have been a runaway victory to a gold metal, the 20-year-old American grabbed her snowboard on the second-to-last jump before the finish line. Inexplicably — and some say inexcusably — she fell. Why??? A few hours later, in a conference call she revealed that there might have been some showboating going on. “I was having fun,” she said. “Snowboarding is fun. I was ahead. I wanted to share my enthusiasm with the crowd. I messed up. Oh well, it happens.”
Last weekend I was flying a kite with my six year old daughter. The wind was gusting and the kite was flying with little help from us. All of sudden, it started to spiral down to the ground. Why? Simple. We let go of the string.
What do these two stories have in common? Tension. If Lindsey had kept the tension tight she might not have come tumbling to the ground like our kite.
The Top Ten Things You Dont Want to Hear About Losing Weight
April 24, 2007
(But What You Need to Know if You Want to Get Fit!)
10) No, you won’t end up looking like the latest hot young model/singer/actress!
Let’s face it: your body is your body. It’s the only one you’ve got. Can you still look great? Sure! But there are some things you can’t change. You can’t make your legs longer or your feet smaller. You can’t grow five inches or elongate your torso. You have what you have, so work with it! Concentrate on making a healthy and fit you instead of wishing you looked like someone else. You don’t have to be perfect to be attractive. A strong, fit body as well as the self-confidence it brings can make any person attractive!
9) It’s better to be muscular and weigh more than to be flabby and weigh less.
I’ve said it so many times: I’d much rather be 135lbs and muscular than 120lbs and flabby. I’ve been both, and 135lbs with a lower percent of body fat was definitely better! I was smaller, stronger and had much more energy. So, don’t always seek that magical number on the scale, but look at your total body composition instead.
Active Relaxation - The Neglected Art

Active Relaxation - The Neglected Art
by: Graham Smith
Stress
Stress is a serious business. The subject is often in the news: we know that it causes the loss of more working days than physical illness and can lead to serious conditions of the heart and other organs. Stress is taken so seriously these days that employers have a legal duty of care towards their employees.
The media put far less emphasis on the natural antidote to stress: relaxation. It might be useful to remind ourselves what relaxation actually means. Far from merely being the absence of tension, relaxing actually requires a positive act of will. Just as a composer writes rests - indicating silence - as carefully as the notes played by musicians, so we need to decide when to relax and how to do so. Just think of the expression ‘To compose yourself’.
Techniques that help
We know of many techniques and disciplines, some of them very ancient, that help us to relax. Meditation has been described as ‘Increasing the distance between thoughts’, a way of emptying the mind of its usual chatter, regret, worry and aspiration. Yoga can help us to achieve a similar inner calm through focusing on the body and how it breathes. In both cases, the emphasis is actively on focusing our attention on the here and now, rather than reflecting on the past or thinking ahead.
