Your Greatest Mentor Is You!
by: Jonathan G. Michel
Whenever a motivational speaker, or self-help book, as well as any other related materials tell you that you should find yourself a mentor to follow and inspire you, remember that the greatest mentor of all is you.
The others that you have read about will soon fade into your memory, but you will never fade. You’re the only one that you can count on when no one else is around. This is especially true when you’re down and out, because of the law of attraction. Nobody ever wants to be around someone who’s down and out, not even family most of the time, because it hurts them to see you this way.
You can and should look towards others to help you, and encourage you, and you should feel no shame in that. But in the end, when you lay your head to rest at night, you must look inside yourself for it is there that you will find the desire and the will to achieve. If you search deep enough, you’ll find that all that is needed to change your life was within you, all of this time.
Sacred Space, Sacred Time
May 5, 2007
We all need space, we all need time to ourselves. In Exodus3:15- Word of God:When the Lord saw that Moses was coming closer, he called him from the middle of the bush and said:
“Moses, Moses”, he answered, “Yes, here I am”God said, ” Do not come any closer. Take off your sandals because you are standing on holy ground.”
Indeed, one little corner, a fraction of time that you allow yourself can do wonders to your being, to get in touch with your inner self and give expression to your faith. A space that allows you to reflect onyour life, on your day, on what tomorrow may bring. A small place where you can shed a tear, or breathe a sigh of relief, quieten a troubled mind or savor a few victories.
Sacred Space
It is a place to reflect and contemplate on what is important to you, to allow you to connect with your inner self , without interference, and in solitude. It could be as simple as a table top, a corner of the bedroom, a place just for you to enjoy few precious moments alone. No, it does not require a whole room, or many hours. Is there a small table top, a spot on the dresser, an isolated corner , an idle spot that collects clutter and dust? If you are on the road a lot, would you not want to carry something to evoke that feeling of connectedness?

Garden of Eden: a Coming of Age Story Gone Wrong
by: Christopher Jon Luke Dowgin
We have all been there. We are safe and cozy in our parents home. No bills, no mortgage, no work, no responsibilities except naming a couple pets and feeding them. Your parents are your creators, your providers, and your law givers. They are responsible for your lives. They are the justice you must face when we step out of line. Fair but firm. Home is like a paradise. But then puberty hits, and paradise is shattered.
Mom does not exist anymore and Dad is on a rampage. Junior is dating this loose woman and growing his hair long. Junior is caught by his father’s demands and the woman’s desires. Dad says my way or the highway. Junior is left to fend for himself by the sweat of his own brow as he and his woman ride out on the back of a Harley as the last words of the father can be heard cursing the woman to bear children that will cause her as much harm as his son has.
The Beginners Guide to Losing Weight
May 4, 2007
So you’ve decided that you’re going to do it.
You’re sick and tired of being sick and tired and are once and for all hell bent on losing weight.
Well, let me be the first to warn you of a very grim fact:
Millions have tried before you and most of them have failed miserably at reaching their weight loss and diet goals.
Therefore, I’ve put together a little beginner’s guide to help make sure that you are one of the few that actually ends up being successful at this.
Many people just go and hop on a diet or weight loss program without knowing exactly where they are from the start. This is dangerous because along the way there WILL be numerous times where you will be tempted to simply quit altogether. Without knowing where you started, you won’t be able to accurately gauge your progress. Not being able too see that progress put you at an extremely high risk of quitting down the road when the going gets tough.

Manifestation - Your Gateway to the Life You Want
by: Penelope Housden
Are you stuck in a rut? Do you ever feel that you are being perpetually driven; that life is a never-ending round of rushing from here to there, or from one chore to another, with no time for relaxation? That money worries - how to pay those rising bills, or where the next payment is coming from for your children’s education, your family’s healthcare, your house mortgage - occupy your mind much of the time, or that relationships with your family or spouse suffer because you haven’t got time to spend with them - you’re working all the hours there are to pay the bills after all, aren’t you. Things never seem to go right, no matter how hard you try, and feeling frustration and discontent has become a part of what you are. You long for the day when you can get just a little time for yourself, and do some of those things you always wanted. Without knowing it, you may have programmed yourself for unhappiness and failure.

10 Ways to Monitor Corporate Stress Levels
Good military leaders work hard to balance the
positive and negative stress. Positive stress
encourages high performance. Negative stress
degrades individual and unit capability. The best
leaders know how to use positive stress to get the
most out of their personnel. And they know how to
tone things down to when negative stress threatens
productivity
The Army is fanatic about training officers and
sergeants to take care of the troops. And these
well-trained leaders are fanatic about carrying
out their responsibilities. The soldiers in their
command don’t always realize why these leaders are
so focused on having everything ready –
personnel, equipment, and training 100 percent
ready.
Even the most personable leaders are sometimes
accused of managing “by the book” or of being too
concerned with their own personal recognition and
promotion. But those who make these allegations,
miss the point. Just the opposite is true.
These “fanatic” leaders are primarily interested
in the welfare of their troops. They want to
complete the unit mission with minimum personnel
Protect and Improve Your Health With Antioxidants
May 1, 2007
Every minute of every day the cells of our bodies are assaulted by particles called oxygen free radicals, also called oxidants. We can’t escape free radicals because our cells produce them during normal metabolism. Additionally, our every day environment contains an abundance of free radicals.
Unfortunately these radicals produce chain reactions that lead to damage of the DNA in our cells. The aging of our cells is partly the result of free radical damage, also called oxidation.
Fortunately there are some simple steps that we can take to minimize the damage and to promote and prolong the health of our cells.
Oxidation
Free radicals are molecules that have an unpaired electron. They are chemically active and can be thought of as scavengers. They easily bond with the molecules of our cells in a process called oxidation.
We are familiar with the normal oxidation process of metals such as iron. Iron oxide is called rust, and we know that rust can deteriorate the quality of the metal. Other metals also can exhibit oxidation which we generally call corrosion. We normally take steps to prevent the corrosion of metals.
