Being aware here now My path is progressive. It begins with an awareness of my being. Through awareness I grow in understanding. This knowledge leads me to accept and appreciate who I am.
Who am I?
I am a spiritual being living a human experience.
Yesterday teaches what I must remember now and tomorrow teaches what I must learn today. Now is the only reality I know.

Be the best you can I can be nothing less! I aspire to my higher purpose: I am one with all creation.

Your Eight Hormones and Weight Loss
August 22, 2007
If you find this article helpful, please
forward it to friends and relatives.
There are many physical, mental, and physiological
benefits to regular exercise. One category of
benefits is the impact that exercise has on many
of your body’s hormones. Hormones are chemical
messengers within your body that affect almost
all aspects of human function:
1. Growth Hormone
- Stimulates protein synthesis (muscle tone/development),
and strength of bones, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage. -
Decreases use of glucose and increases use of fat as a fuel
during exercise. This helps to reduce body fat and to keep
blood glucose at a normal level which helps you to exercise
for a longer period of time.
Release of growth hormone from the pituitary gland
in the brain is increased with increasing aerobic
exercise time, especially more intense exercise such as
interval training. To receive an article on interval
training, send email to: Intervals@Landry.com
2. Endorphins
- An endogenous opioid from the pituitary gland that
blocks pain, decreases appetite, creates a feeling of

Money and Success - 8 Traits of Extremely Wealthy People
by: Tania French
Have you ever wondered why some people are magnets for wealth and most others just flounder by the wayside? I bet you want to know the secret traits these wealthy people possess.
But first, let’s get one thing clear.
The real question people want to know the answer to is - what is the #1 business for creating wealth.
And the answer is
Any business. Yes, every business. Just look at these folks.
Steve Jobs got rich creating and selling computers. J.K. Rowling is wealthy because she switched gears and started writing books. Jeff Bezos got rich selling books. Oprah Winfrey became wealthy connecting to people on TV. Wayne Huizenga became rich by hauling trash. Bill Gates started coding software and is a multi-billionaire.
Their businesses have nothing in common. Just look at your community. People are becoming wealthy in a variety of businesses.
What do Oprah, Jeff, Steve, Bill, Wayne, and J.K. have in common. Commit the following eight traits to memory:
1. They have Persistence. Overcoming obstacles and moving on is a given.
The Abs… More Important Than You Think
August 20, 2007
What comes to your mind when I say the word "abs"? Do you think of the infomercials advertising "6 second abs" or the latest Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue? Most people focus on training their abs to look thinner or sexier. But, do you realize the importance of your abs in everyday activities? Most yoga instructors do. And that’s why one of the focuses of yoga is to build your core abdominal strength.
Important for posture
Your abs attach to your spine and pelvis, helping balance your back in good posture. Often times, when your back is not supported in the correct posture by your abdominals and back muscles, back pain occurs. Did you know that back pain accounts for approximately 50 billion dollars in health care costs each year. This is not something to be taken lightly — so remember — one of the best ways to prevent back pain is to strengthen your abs.
It often takes a conscious effort to sit in good posture. But, even if you get into a good sitting posture, you will need the abdominal and back endurance to maintain it! How are you sitting at your computer right now? I would bet most of you are sitting in a slumped posture?.some more than others. To sit in good posture, you should have a slight inward curve in your back with your ears directly over your shoulders.
Basic Drills
August 19, 2007
We all have a good foundation in the basic blows and combinations.
Think about adding the following drills to your basic syllabus.
These can be trained as “stand alone” combinations OR worked into existing “Defendu” combinations either “before” or “after”.
1. HARD left lead to chin (mental foramen) HARD overhand right to chin (opposite side) then: HARD upward right knee to fork.
Repeat punching combo. Then: Side step with right leg (out and to the right 45 degree) LEFT knee to fork.
2. HARD left to chin. HARD right to solar-plexus.
Then the knee smashes as above.
3. HARD left to SOLAR-PLEXUS. HARD right to chin.
Then the knee smashes as above.
4. HARD left to solar-plexus. HARD right to SOLAR-PLEXUS.
Then the knee smashes as above.
Basically it’s a series of drills to train the TWO most fundamental punches to head and body, followed by a knee smash to the nuts, practicing with either knee.
Give it a try.
NO BITCHING about “hurting” your hands! NO “Nancy” boys (or girls) allowed here!

Top 10 Weight Loss and Fitness Myths
August 18, 2007
WARNING: Don’t weight train until after
you’ve lost weight!
No, no, no, no, pleeeeease don’t believe
that headline! That’s one of the many
myths associated with weight loss and
fitness. If you’re interested in losing
weight and getting fit as quickly as
possible, don’t let these myths throw
you off track;
Myth #1 - Some fancy exercise
machine-of-the-month burns more calories
than any other exercise.
FACT - One thing that many people seem to be
confused about is how many calories are
expended during different types of exercise.
For example, I receive lots of questions
regarding how many calories are burned with
fancy exercise machines or certain unusual
exercises that are supposed to burn lots of
calories.
Don’t be fooled by this stuff! Here’s
the bottom line - caloric expenditure is
directly related to the amount of effort an
activity requires. In general, the more
difficult it feels, the more calories you burn.
The easier it feels the fewer calories you burn.
Mindfulness and Tango: On Passion and Possiblities

Mindfulness and Tango: On Passion and Possiblities
by: Maya Talisman Frost
My husband and I went to see a
production of “Forever Tango!” presented
at the Angela Peralta Theater just two
blocks from our home here in Mazatlan.
After all, since we’re moving to Argentina
in July, we need to learn more about tango,
which was born in Buenos Aires back in
the late 1800s.
It was a great show–passionate dancing,
stirring music, spectacular costumes. But I
wanted to know more about how this dance
form started, so I did a little research on the
history of tango.
Despite the fact that we tend to consider
tango to be a dance performed in high
society while wearing gorgeous dresses,
the roots of this dance are decidedly
low class.
In the 1880s, Buenos Aires attracted
immigrants from around the world–Germans,
Italians, Africans–as well as those moving to
the burgeoning city from the pampas in the
Argentine countryside. These new arrivals
Enthusiam And The Spirit
August 17, 2007
In this article, I would like deal with one specific aspect of attitude, that is, “enthusiasm.” To have an enthusiastic attitude about we do is essential.
I have taken the time to look up the meaning and origin of the word enthusiasm:
ETYMOLOGY: Late Latin enthsiasmus, from Greek enthousiasmos, from enthousiazein, to be inspired by a god, from entheos, possessed: en-, in; see + theos, god; thus, a strong warmth of feeling, keen interest or fervor; Great excitement for or interest in a subject or cause. 2. A source or cause of great excitement or interest. 3. Archaic a. Ecstasy arising from supposed possession by a god. b. Religious fanaticism.
Irving Hexham’s concise Dictionary of religion explained it this way: ENTHUSIASM: the original Greek word means “rapture” or being possessed by a GOD. The word was used disparagingly in the seventeenth century to depict the religious attitude of the PURITANS and in the eighteenth century the METHODISTS.
Today the word has the general sense of a passionate eagerness in any pursuit.
Activate The Energy Of The Universe

Activate The Energy Of The Universe
by: Ineke Van Lint
Did you know that you can not create energy yourself?
You can just activate the universal energy, which exists always and will always exist.
This Energy gave you life. It’s always there, at every moment, for everyone.
There is no such thing like people with a lot of energy and other ones without energy.
The difference is that energetic people know how to activate this always available energy.
And the low energy people, they block this energy, which is although always available for them too!
Energy does not decide something like :”Hey I like this one so I will send her energy, and the other one over there I don’t like so he won’t get any of my energy”. This is nonsense!
The same counts for diseases. A disease does not “choose” a body to attack. How would it do it? Can you imagine a cancer saying : “I don’t like the way he cuts his hair, so I will attack his liver?” or “I can’t stand the way she talks so I will attack her breast?”
Treadmill Reviews - Top 3 Things to Keep in Mind When Reading Treadmill Reviews
August 15, 2007
So you’re excited about buying a treadmill. You’re looking forward to having a premium piece of fat-burning equipment available to you 24-7 at your convenience.
Rain, snow, sleet or hail, it doesn’t matter because you’ll be able to workout anyway!
But wait a minute - there’s so many treadmill brands to choose from!
And why are there so many differences of opinion?
If you’ve read many treadmill reviews in your search for the best treadmill you may have ended up a little confused:
One person swears by their Proform treadmill; another says it’s a piece of junk. One expert loves Nordic Track; another expert wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole.
How are you supposed to make a smart decision with so many conflicting opinions?
To help you out, here are the top 3 things to keep in mind when reading treadmill reviews:
#1) Consider this: It’s just ONE PERSON’S opinion.
People have different opinions on everything from movies to ice cream to cars to cities. Someone prefers Honda to General Motors. Another person prefers Dell over IBM.
That doesn’t mean that one thing is necessarily better than another, it just means somebody has a preference for it.
