Uncover the Fountain of Fresh Starts Hidden in You
by: Guy Finley
(Excerpted from Let Go and Live in the Now, Red Wheel/Weiser, 2004: 1025 words)
We tell ourselves that we want a new life; in our minds we see ourselves reclaiming our right to live without limitations. We see ourselves walking away from destructive relationships and letting go of negative thoughts and feelings. And this is the very problem. We talk to ourselves about a fresh start and even plan the path we will take when things get right . . . but that’s it. We think, but rarely act. We dream, but won’t awaken to the one fact we must face if we would make a fresh start: The new beginning we long for is now or never.
There is no such thing as tomorrow for anyone who really has it in his or her heart to start over with life. There is only one place where we can hope to make a fresh start in life, and this has to be in that place where life itself is new all the time. But before we discuss where this fountain of fresh starts is found, we must grasp what may be a challenging idea: the true place of all new beginning is, in reality, neither a place nor a time.
Vitamin C May Improve Smokers Blood Circulation
January 5, 2008
A dose of vitamin C may give a quick boost to the poorer-than-average blood circulation seen in healthy young smokers, a study suggests. The study of 25 healthy men found that although smokers initially showed poorer results on a test of blood flow to the heart that changed after they took a large dose - 2 grams - of vitamin C.
Shortly after taking the vitamin, the 13 smokers showed blood circulation on par with that of the 12 non-smokers, according to findings published in a leading heart journal.
However, lest smokers think they can undo heart damage by chasing a cigarette with a vitamin C pill, the researchers say their findings underline the dangers of smoking.
Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant, a substance that helps clear the body of cell-damaging molecules called oxygen free radicals. Because of this, it’s thought that the vitamin may counter the “oxidative stress” that smoking puts on the lining of the blood vessels - a mechanism by which smoking leads to artery disease.
Why Does the Weight Come Back?
January 5, 2008
Before many Australians recently, a devastating story unfolded on a popular current affairs program.
We watched with compassion as the fattest man in Australia told of his most recent, serious attempt to lose weight. Approximately 12 months earlier and weighing close to 300 kilos, he under went surgery and had his stomach stapled.
I doubt there would have been one person watching not moved by this man’s depression and plight. Despite undergoing the surgery, today he could barely get through each day, both physically and mentally. He shared with us his sense of hopelessness and wanting to end it all.
It was not only his size that was causing his depression. He had to deal with a heart broken by disappointment.
You see, the stomach stapling had been a success.
He soon lost well over 50 kilos post operation and he and his family rejoiced. But then the unthinkable happened.
The weight came back. Today he weighs well over 300 kilos - more than before the stomach stapling.
This is an extreme case, but nonetheless raises a question that so many people continue to battle with.
After a diet, why does the weight come back so quickly?
Orgasm & Early Ejaculations - Sex is a Serious Thing!
January 4, 2008
Most of the questions asked to sexual health experts are about men’s early ejaculations and women’s orgasm troubles. When you read this you may say: It’s normal, if man is coming off quickly, woman couldn’t have an orgasm! But if you really think for a few seconds, surprisingly, you won’t see any relation between these two events. Because, a man if he is not a boor, will prepare his woman to reach her orgasm before his ejaculation.
The other highly popular question is about the penis size! After all that porn movies many people are really confused. How and where to find such a prominent organ? What is the normal size? How thick and long can be the biggest? How small is acceptable for lovemaking?
Every man’s genital is different as his finger print and the role of the penis size in a happy and successful sexual relationship is not such important. At least you don’t have to be such stupid to pay sack full money to programs, drugs or advice for making it bigger! Even with a huge organ a man’s chance is very limited to make her achieve an orgasm if he is not a good lover and doesn’t know proper sex techniques, most probably he will cause pain instead of pleasure.
5 Steps to a More Organized Life

5 Steps to a More Organized Life
by: Marie Fahey
1. Make an Appointment with Yourself. Schedule some “me time”. What you do with this time is up to you. Block out some time for writing, organizing, reading, or anything. It can be work related or it could be personal time at the spa or an hour at the park with your kids. If you get in the habit of marking these blocks of times for yourself in your calendar, you’ll find that your days will become more productive.
•Try to schedule at least 30 minutes a day for yourself and do something you enjoy.
2. Plan Your Day. In addition to scheduling personal time for you, there are also other personal, family and business tasks and appointments to plan.
•Purchase some type of daily planner. There are many on the market today, some have a week at a glance others month at a glance. Purchase the one that most works with how you do.
Heal Emotional Difficulties With Your Imagination

How did an artist accidently learn healing visualizations and improve his life? How can you do the same? Read on.
Last year a family counselor approached me and said, “You’re an artist, why don’t you do up some feeling cards for us?” Looking confused, I asked, “what are feeling cards?”
“When all else fails, she replied, we use them to stimulate therapeutic conversations with clients and their families.” She showed me a set of improvised cards with pictures of facial expressions on them and on the bottom of each card was the appropriate emotion word: anger, happy, sad, etc.
“What’s wrong with these?”, I asked.
“For one, we don’t have kids in the set, and for two, there aren’t any female faces either.”
I thought the idea was intriguing, and designed a set with her criteria in mind. She found my new set quite useful, and based on her positive evaluation, I decided to print up a batch and make them more widely available to service providers in helping professions.
What is Your Healthy Body Weight
January 1, 2008
Everywhere we look in the western world we are inundated with pictures, images, icons and inferences of the ‘perfect’ female shape! The truth is that many of these images are altered or enhanced in some way and do not depict the typical female form. The pressure to lose weight is immense when we are bombarded every day with media selling products based on slimness, sex appeal and fashion. The constant message is that slimness will make you desireable.
With the current demographic trends in western countries, and faced with a sea of high fat, high sugar combined with physical inactivity; it is time to pay attention to our weight but not for any reasons of desirability. The most important reason for wanting to be a healthy body weight is for health rather than for how your body looks.
Overweight and obesity are major public health problems in western countries. Since the 1980s both adult men and women have become heavier, with obesity rates more than doubling in the last 20 years! Children are also becoming heavier. There is a growing concern that we are inadvertently training our overweight children to become obese adults. It has been said, we are digging our graves with out teeth! So just why should we be concerned with achieving a healthy body weight?
