3 Simple Weight Loss Tips from the Pros
February 29, 2008
Tip 1) DRINK A GLASS OF WATER AFTER EACH SNACK
This will help you get in your 8 to 10 glasses of water each day but it can also have other benefits. Ever feel hungry after eating a handful or standard serving of nuts? Try drinking water afterwards. The water will help you feel full and prevent overindulgence.
Drinking water after a snack will also help remove the aftertaste from your mouth and can help curb your desire for more.
Tip 2) EAT SLOWLY & ENJOY YOUR FOOD
You will feel full and more satisfied if you take the time to savor your food and chew it slower. Don’t get in the habit of eating while standing or eating quickly. Sit down and chew.
Eating slower will help you enjoy your food more, pay attention to what it is you are actually eating and get a better sense of when you are actually full.
Tip 3) EAT YOUR LARGER MEALS EARLY, AND SMALLER MEALS LATER
You will feel better and lose weight quicker if you eat a large breakfast and eat a smaller dinner. You may also want to eat the majority of your carbs earlier in the day, saving a salad and lean meat protein for dinner.
Do you deserve anything?

Do you deserve anything?
by: Kenia Morales
Are you mad or bitter about the way your life has turned out? Is it possible that you are feeling other negative emotions for the same reason? I know that many people complain about their lives all the time. They also complain about how other people react towards them. Oh! And of course they are in that predicament because their parents were unsupportive, their teachers did not care about them and the bosses where dictators. Worst of all, the list goes on and on “never ending.” I will tell you what I think about it, “Oh please, give me a break!” Although external circumstances do affect us, it is not unlikely for an individual to change or redirect their path in life.
Look at all the drug addicts that overcome their addictions, look at poor or middle class children that grow up to become great leaders like Oprah and Bill Clinton. An Albanian Proverb states, “When you have given nothing, ask for nothing.” This is true, how can you expect someone to give you all their undivided attention when you barely acknowledge their presence? Do not expect for your boss to give you a raise or a promotion if you are unenthusiastic about the job or organization as a whole.
Spiritual Belief
February 28, 2008
The atmosphere surrounding the earth is still a matter of special interest for scientific research. Some physicists have discovered and suggest that we are living within a field of energy that surrounds and envelops the earth, like an invisible halo. Through this are shot electrical charges. It appears that not only does this energy charge the batteries of our mind, body and soul it also helps us to be successful. Einstein stated that to the physicist this field is as real as the chair you are sitting on.
Man has suddenly re-awakened to the fact that he is part of a vast cosmos, and that we are not just a speck of dust on a chunk of matter, revolving around the sun. With this new dawn and with cosmic realization our questioning mind will find answers to some of mans most demanding questions.
One of the most persistent conceptions in the history of human thinking has been the idea that there is a definable relationship between the individual and there destiny. This is a very old idea and it crops up in the records of every known civilization and culture.
Increase Your Training Intensity - Training To Failure
February 27, 2008
You can only build muscle tissue if you can generate progressively stronger muscular contractions, so this calls for an emphasis on finding ways to increase exercise intensity. This should not be confused with exercise duration as maximum training intensity will actually shorten the time needed to achieve maximal muscular growth.
In an earlier article I outlined the ways in which you can intensify your training. Here we’ll focus on the role that training to failure has to play in intensifying the training effect.
Anything less than maximum effort will reduce the effectiveness of your muscle building workout. The only way to force an optimal reaction in any muscle is to train it to failure - in other words, no matter how much effort you put in you are simply incapable of completing one more rep of a given exercise.
Too many people seem to finish a set when they reach a certain number of reps, but the body will only show significant change if you ask it to do something extra. Only by passing through the break-over point of momentary muscle failure will you stimulate the muscle to grow.
7 Tips to Help You De-stress & Handle Your Problems
February 26, 2008
Life would be so wonderful if it weren’t for other people. Let’s face it, people will upset you. They will say things that will hurt your feeling.
And no matter how well you plan, problems and challenges will pop up. You will be stressed out. But it’s your responsibility to do something to feel better.
Here are 7 tips that can help you right away:
1) Don’t just sit there. Move! According to many psychologists, motion creates emotion. You might notice that when you are idle, it’s easier to become depressed. Your heart rate slows down, less oxygen travels to your brain, and you are slumped somewhere in a chair blocking air from reaching your lungs.
I challenge you right now, regardless of how you are feeling, to get up and walk around at a fast tempo. Maybe you might want to go to an empty room and jump up and down a little bit. It may sound silly but the results speak for themselves. Try it now for a few minutes. It works like magic.

Religion of Rationality Ordains Ministers for Free
by: Crash Winfield
The Temple of Earth has recently announced that it will ordain anyone online (at www.templeofearth.com) for free. Of course, this is nothing new. Many online religious organizations offer free ordination. But the Temple of Earth aims to provide something qualitatively different from the others.
“The TOE,” as it is affectionately referred to by its adherents, is “The World’s First Religion of Reason.” That is, it aims to promote rationality and a type of humanist philosophy which embraces spiritual notions but stops short at offering pat explanations about life, the universe and everything.
“This is not atheism,” asserts the Deacon of the Temple, “We are not saying that there is no God. But the idea of God is so abstract and means so many things to so many people that questions about it are meaningless. Many people say God is nature. In that case, studying the laws of nature would be the same as trying to understand God. And this is what we do. But why call it God? We just call it nature.”

Elliptical Exercise Machines Provide Low Impact, Total Body Workouts While Improving Cardiovascular Health
Ever since their introduction on the fitness scene several years ago, elliptical exercise machines have become increasing more popular and sophisticated. Estimates indicate that over six million people now prefer elliptical machines as their choice for home exercise equipment. The main reason elliptical exercise machines have become so popular is that they provide a low impact, total body workout that is challenging enough for serious athletes but safe enough for beginners and even expectant mothers. And when it comes to cardiovascular workouts, elliptical machines are tough to beat.
Low Impact Workout
Over time, research has shown that in order to maintain healthy bone density, it is necessary to engage in weight-bearing activities such as running, racquetball, aerobics, and other forms of exercise where you remain on your feet. But many of these activities involve jarring the bones and muscles and can aggravate old injuries and even cause new ones. The joints that can be injured or irritated with an impact form of exercise are usually the knees, ankles, hips and back. Pregnant women, people with arthritis, and those who are recovering from an accident often require a low impact exercise routine, and that is exactly what the elliptical exercise machines provide.
Arthritis Exercise ? One Way to Relieve Pain & Stiffness in Your Joints (part 2)
February 24, 2008
Even when you cannot make it out to walk or to an aquatics or yoga class, there are exercises you can do daily to improve flexibility, strength and conditioning when you suffer from arthritis. You can flex your legs while sitting in a chair facing forward, simply by moving your leg outward while keeping your foot on the floor and holding it there for a few seconds, then retracting it until your foot is behind you, then alternating to the other leg. Interlocking your fingers and slowly flexing your wrists to the left and the right for a few minutes a day can help tremendously to increase flexibility and reduce pain in the wrist area.
For your upper back, you can stand upright in front of a table, then lean over and place your hands on the table and tuck your chin back toward your collarbone. Once positioned as such, lift your upper back upward and simultaneously take a deep breath. Hold that position for 5-10 seconds and then relax while exhaling. While doing this, lower your spine slowly as you move both shoulder blades forward as if toward each other. Repeat this exercise for 10-15 repetitions.
What Every Woman Needs!
February 23, 2008
As a woman, your body is very complex. Throughout every phase of your life you will require extra care and nutritional support. Today’s scientific advances support a number of natural choices for women, like soy. Still, the fact remains that calcium, folic acid and iron continue to be the most important nutrients that can impact a woman’s total health. All women should take a daily multiple vitamins with these essential nutrients.
Calcium is essential to strong healthy bones.
As a woman you have a much greater risk of developing osteoporosis because you have less bone tissue and lose bone more rapidly then men do. Be sure to consume adequate calcium throughout life, as this may reduce your risk of osteoporosis later in life. Calcium is essential to the health of bones, teeth and skin, yet few adults get enough of it in their diets. Make sure you find a high quality calcium supplement to ensure you receive a health-enhancing daily allowance.
Folic acid impacts women in many ways.

Unleashing Your Personal Development Potential
by: Kori Puckett
You eventually reach a point in your life when you’re ready for change and a whole bunch of information that’ll help you unleash your personal development potential. Until then, something can stare at you right under your nose but you don’t see it.
For instance, when you look at a painting, you can’t really appreciate it when it’s just an inch away from your face. But if you look at it from a little further back, you’ll have a clearer vision of the whole artwork.
Most people tend to only think of seeking advice for self help and personal growth when everything gets worse. For example, take the following scenario:
Try placing your finger in a pot of scalding hot water. What happens? You take it out pretty quick. Why? Because you can’t tolerate sudden change in your environment, the water’s hot temperature.
But try placing your finger in luck warm water and then turn the gas stove on. Wait until the water reaches a certain temperature, then you’ll start thinking “Ooh… it’s a bit warm in there”. Then you’ll finally remove your finger.
