The Acronym That Saved My Life
February 21, 2008
Frequently, I get asked about certifications, systems or methods. We made a decision a long time ago of purposely staying away from things like this.
Obviously, it’s a no-brainer, money maker and it’s not that I don’t want to make money; but our purpose was to give you real training on the real stuff. Certifications and acronyms lead to a false sense of security and there’s a fine line between sense of accomplishment and sense of security.
Personally, no matter how many black belts and "certifications" I have- I can always find people 10 feet outside my dojo who could care less. That and 5 bucks can get you a venti, no caff, half caff, caramel mochachinno deluxe, no whip of course.
I may be beating a dead horse?.. but its about the TRAINING. Training and practice is what counts. Now ITS NOT YOUR FAULT that you search for this stuff. You have been conditioned with certifications, acronyms black belt clubs and all that. The only thing that’s good for is padding your resume. We "ain’t" about that. If you want something to hang on your wall- buy a mirror and take a long hard look in it. If you like what you see and you are true to your training ? that’s what matters.
8 Ways to Plant Spiritual Ideas Deep in Your Heart
February 20, 2008
The fundamental aim of spiritual study is to get facts and principles into the Heart’s fertile ground. Ideas must get through habitual and familiar filters; otherwise, the information is diverted from having its full power. It’s not how much you read or hear that counts, but how much you take in and make your own.
How can you receive knowledge deep in your core so the principles work for you in far higher ways? Here are eight proven methods that work wonders:
1. Write your own book of development. Gather pearls of wisdom as you read, listen to audio programs or attend talks. More importantly, when YOU have an insight, get it down! You’ll find as years go by that the notebook you’ve created is filled with wisdom that has special resonance for YOU.
2. Contemplate. Picture yourself flying a glider. The tow plane lifts you. Now it’s your time to soar. You pull the connection and you’re on your own. The winds lift you higher and higher.
The glider is a perfect parallel to the art of contemplation. Focus on a single word, sentence, illustration or experience that matters to you. Put the spotlight of your attention on it. What’s in this idea that isn’t presently seen? What does the experience REALLY mean?
Survival Guide For Holiday Parties
February 19, 2008
If you have been watching your weight all year, you certainly won’t want to add back the pounds during the holiday season! By making a commitment to yourself and your health, with these tips it will be possible to enjoy the holiday celebrations without adding extra pounds.
1. Don’t think diet, rather think about eating smarter.
2. Before attending a party, have a small high quality, nutritionally balanced meal. That way you will be less likely to be hungry and fill up on snack foods served with drinks.
3. While at a party, determine to hold your drink in your dominant hand all evening. This will make it a little less convenient to reach for food.
4. Think of one daily indulgence, rather than a ‘day of indulgence’.
5. Before attending a party resolve to snack only from fresh fruit and vegetable choices.
6. If you must have a taste of chips and other ‘dry’ snack foods, alternate with fresh vegetable crudités. It is quite difficult to mix the tastes, so you are likely to eat more slowly and eventually give up. When that happens stick to the fresh food choices.
Passion, Purpose & Profits

Passion, Purpose & Profits
by: Kristin S. Kopp
Passion and purpose are the common denominators shared by the most successful people on this planet.
Bill Gates is passionate about making health care available around the world.
Oprah Winfrey is passionate about making education available around the world.
Martin Luther King was passionate about making freedom available around the world.
These lasting legacies of clinics, schools and human rights stem from the vision of people just like you and me. What sets them apart from most of us is the clarity and power of their passion and purpose. These successful people knew what they wanted to accomplish and felt passionate about making a difference in the world. They grew their purpose as their successes grew. They created the momentum required to change the world by focusing and acting daily on what they could uniquely offer. Businessman, TV celebrity and preacher, they had their eye on a bigger prize, that would change the lives of many.
What is your passion and purpose?

Why Is Thiamin So Important?
February 17, 2008
What Is Thiamin?
Known as Vitamin B1, thiamin was the very first B-Vitamin discovered. As an integral part of the B-complex spectrum of vitamins, thiamin is primarily involved in energy metabolism ? turning foods into a useable energy source for the body, known as ATP (adenosine triphosphate). All of the B-vitamins work together to produce ATP, and each different vitamin is also involved in more specific aspects of the human body. Thiamin helps support healthy nerves and a healthy heart, is involved in positively influencing mood, and is also now considered useful for soothing heartburn.
How does Thiamin Work?
Besides playing an important role in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and protein, thiamin is also necessary to maintaining heart health. The human heart pumps blood in and out of its chambers numerous times a day, feeding blood through vessels to the various parts of the human body ? it is the hardest working organ in the human body. Regular daily intake of Thiamin is essential to people suffering from congestive heart failure (CHF) because it has been shown to improve the heart’s "pumping power." Thiamin has been found in very low levels in those people with CHF. Long term use of diuretic drugs, which are often prescribed to CHF patients, deplete the body’s storage of Thiamin. One study of CHF patients on diuretics showed that taking at least 200 mg. of Thiamin each day for 6 weeks improved the heart’s pumping power by 22%.
How to use Self-Doubt as a Powerful Action Tool

How to use Self-Doubt as a Powerful Action Tool
by: Michaela Scherr
One night last week after everyone had gone to bed, I sat by myself fully immersed in a self-doubt session. What if my latest e-book is a dud, what if my articles aren’t up to scratch, what if I’m doing the wrong thing, what on earth made me decide to follow this path anyway (duh hello, you did…), what if, what if, and more what if? The ‘what ifs’ haunted me for quite some time that night.
So what did I do? Well, I recalled all my achievements, great and small, how far I’ve actually come through making mistakes, great and small, and learning from them. Satisfied with what I came up with, I dusted myself off, gave myself a stern talking to and was right as rain the following morning.
Self-doubt means to lack faith or confidence in oneself. However self-doubt can be used as a powerful ‘call to action’ tool.
• Work with self-doubt; use it to your advantage. If having a self-doubt moment or two get some feedback from people you value.
The Truth About Fat
February 15, 2008
Fat has had a lot of bad press and for many people, just a mention of the word can evoke misery. You can try to lose it, try to hide it, try to avoid it, but your body still needs it! Did you know that fat helps to insulate our nerve cells, keeps us warm, balances our hormones, keeps skin and arteries supple, lubricates joints and is a component in every cell?
The key issue here is recognizing which type of fat your body needs, how much your body requires and which type is your enemy. Armed with the right information, you can focus on getting more of the good fats and less of the bad fats into your daily diet.
There are two types of fat to be aware of. Saturated fats - let’s call them “the enemy” and unsaturated fats - “the good guys”! It is easy to tell the difference because saturated fats are hard at room temperature. Saturated fats are not essential to your health. They come from animals and are found in meat, eggs and cheese. They are harder to digest and full of cholesterol.
Spiritual Sanity
February 14, 2008
Prior to the September 11th terrorist attacks on the United States and its people of freedom, this article was written in as an outcome of some research that I completed regarding the history of world religions and the fervor of religious dogma that continues to be the mark of “man’s inhumanity to man.”
After reading it again four years later, the words held a greater impact that seems to threaten the heart of every human soul and that touches the lives of all cultures, all religions and spiritual practices as well as the very souls of all humanity.
We have a powerful responsibility as spiritual leaders and human beings to consider these most difficult and violent actions that arise out of sheer desperation of the human mind and not from the heart of God. How may we unite as One World with Love, Compassion, Understanding, Acceptance and Peace to dissolve the frightening path of spiritual insanity in the world?
This question has been asked and asked since the beginning of thinking man and her greater community. Has religious insanity touched your life? It is frightening that so many follow to death the distortions of religious/spiritual leadership.
Internet Success - “Just Do it”

Internet Success - “Just Do it”
by: Cindy Brooks
For several years now, I’ve been busy running the roads selling products to people I didn’t know and I’ll probably never see again. The two products I sold were walk-in bathtubs which sold for close to $13,000 to elderly people who had a hard time getting in and out of a bathtub, and then commercial-grade windows which sold for close to $1,000/each window. Anyway, what I’m trying to say is the money I made has been here and gone. What happened while I was on the road driving over 1500 miles/week? There are few places a woman without a college education can earn over $1000/week except in direct sales or who knows, maybe finding a niche over the internet.
But how do you know where to start or what to do first? Well, I read an interesting article which motivated me to do something about it. This article was telling me to JUST DO IT, a simple statement–but profound. I remember hearing that statement many years ago in an A.L. Williams meeting. I even heard it last night when listening to a teleseminar with Les Brown, famed motivator, when he was talking about how faith without action means nothing. So why do I have such a hard time “just doing it.” Well, maybe it’s just that I’m afraid I won’t be successful. Maybe it’s because nobody believes in me but me. Who knows?
