Leadership: Leaders Must Create, Duplicate And Propagate Other Leaders
 by: Kurt Lee Hurley

Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it. - Dwight Eisenhower

Without fail, a true leader’s effectiveness can only be confirmed when they are able to cultivate other leaders from ones team.

A truly gifted leader directs ones team down the path of success through a vision; an even better leader puts forth great lessons for his people to benefit from later as they are achieving their goals; while, the best leaders produce other leaders from within, in addition to all of the qualities above mentioned.

The effectiveness of a leader depends on their ability to create other leaders, and a true leader is never selfish. They share their experiences, convey and pass on their knowledge and teach others well. They do all these things without asking for anything in returnbecause they know that what they receive in return are the treasures that are worth their time and the necessary sacrifice.

5 Ways to Create Reserve Energy Everyday

August 30, 2009

Did you ever feel like your “get-up-and-go” got up and deserted you? Has a stressful situation left you feeling drained and unmotivated to perform the simplest tasks?

Most of us have experienced times of stress followed by fatigue. The resiliency to work, play, and enjoy life after stressful times requires enough reserve energy to bounce back.

Bruce Lee said that “? the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind.” Flexibility is indeed one key to resiliency.

Those bamboo trees, in bending one direction, build potential energy to bounce back. However, human minds and bodies are not made of bamboo. We might expend more energy while bending under stress than we have in reserve. We can easily break before we bounce.

Depleted energy results in career burn out, depression, and physical illness. Relationships suffer. Periods of intense apathy can steal much of the joy in living. Springing back after stressful times requires a storehouse of reserve energy.

How can we generate and conserve enough energy to keep us resilient in times of crisis or stress?

The Solution to Healthy Weight Loss

August 29, 2009

The overweight and obesity epidemic is a worldwide problem. There are no official statistics for spending on diet products, but estimates vary from $40 to $100 billion in the US alone, much of that on scams and fad diets that promise the impossible.

Research shows that 95% of people who have lost weight find that they regain it back when they return to their normal eating habits.

According to the Center for Disease Control’s Chronic Disease Center, in 1991 in the United States, only four states had an obesity prevalence of 15 percent to 19 percent. In 2003, 15 states had an obesity prevalence of 15 to 19 percent, 31 states had an obesity prevalence of 20 to 24 percent, and four states had a prevalence of 25 percent or more.

Major medical problems associated with obesity include gallbladder disease, high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, diabetes, and osteoarthritis.

If that isn’t incentive enough to lose that excess weight statistics show that overweight people are usually given lower paying jobs, get lower salaries, receive little in raises, and are, as a whole, looked down upon by 40 percent of fellow employees and employers.

Humanity Is Striving For Perfection. Are We Judging Ourselves Too Harshly?

Humanity Is Striving For Perfection. Are We Judging Ourselves Too Harshly?
 by: Jesse S Somer

What does it mean to be perfect? Many people strive for ‘perfection’ in their life, through their work, their family, and their love lives. All the time we hear about, or are even called ‘perfectionists’, and usually in a negative context. There have been many great humans throughout history that we choose to revere and respect because of their virtuous deeds, but were they perfect? It probably comes down to how you look at it, ‘it’ being perfection.

Pobody’s Nerfect is a cool motto that appeared on Lisa Simpson’s hat when TV’s ‘The Simpsons’ (you had better know who they are) family went to Australia. Could imperfections be paradoxically perfect in themselves? If you look close enough at all of the great names in recorded history you will see that besides their crowning achievements they also carried with them the faults and mistakes of the average person. John Lennon beat his first wife, Martin Luther King Jr. had extramarital affairsGandhi, Nelson Mandela, Einstein, and even Mother Theresa must have done things that were socially or morally unacceptable.

How To Find Your Center Of Power

August 27, 2009

The still place is the beginning. Settle in there, ask for order, and an inner force will prioritize all that you need.

Action can be inner or outer, depending on how Spirit wants you to move.

It’s never about doing something or resolving something. It’s always about being.

When you settle into your beingness, you also release want and scarcity. The way will then be made plain to you. But it will happen in degrees. You will be shown one step at a time.

Your losses are in the past. They are miscreations that you can set behind you.

All fear, all doubt, and all anxiety are misperceptions based on avoiding the center of your life, your beingness.

You will prosper when your mind is controlled by your soul, but not before then. When the mind runs you, then you can only expect the past to roll over into the future. When you, as soul, control the mind, then you can call upon all the forces of creation to assist you.

Fat Burning Foods

August 27, 2009

Are there any foods that burn body fat? If yes, how is it possible? It should be possible to lose weight by simply eating such foods. What are these foods?

The fat burning foods are foods that burn more calories than the calorie content of the foods itself. There are certain foods which actually burn more fat than the calorie content of the food itself. These fat burning foods or so called negative calorie foods are natural plant foods.

Fruits rich in vitamin C like limes, lemons, oranges, grapefruit and tangerines have fat burning properties. Some of the other fat burning foods are asparagus, beet root, broccoli, cabbage, carrot, apple, blueberries, and watermelon. It you eat these fat burning foods and do some exercise, it will boost your metabolism and burn calories at a faster rate for several hours even after exercise.

A recent research reports that calcium in dairy products can boost weight loss by increasing fat breakdown in fat cells. If you compare a dairy-rich versus a dairy-poor diet you can nearly double the rate of weight and fat loss with the same level of calorie restriction.

Moment and Moments - Part 1

Moment and Moments - Part 1
 by: LariAnn Garner

“In Moment is incalculable value.” - Awia

The idea of being in the moment is essential to the spiritual Path. The moment is where life is actually taking place, so being there is crucial to making conscious choices. Successful people have learned the discipline of focusing in the present in order to help them make timely and appropriate decisions.

The practice is also referred to as being in the now, or being present. The emphasis is usually on the concept of the mental discipline of concentration. The recognition of obstacles and distractions to the quest for inner peace enables us to assign them a lower priority in our minds. We acknowledge them while refraining from giving them any more attention than necessary. Once we are so focused, we can just be.

Consciousness of Awia/Awya, All Who I Am/All Who You Are, is fundamental to the spiritual Path. The acronym “Awia” is synonymous with my Higher Self; the acronym “Awya” means your Higher Self. Awia is the essence of me that transcends my mind, my body, and my emotions. I am those three but I am so much more. From Awia come my deepest insights and most honest assimilation of Experience.

How To Optimize And Free Up Your Time

How To Optimize And Free Up Your Time
 by: Aurelia Williams

Time is one of the most important resources that we have. Time is one thing that you can’t swap, borrow or purchase. We are all given the same 24 hours to each day. Even with all of our modern day time saving conveniences such as e-mail, fax machines, microwaves and dish washers, there is no way to get more hours into your day. It is up to each of us to make the very best use of our time since we can’t get it back.

Here are some time saving tips that you can use to optimize and free up your precious time:

Double Up. One way to maximize your time is to double it up. Try exercising while vacuuming or while watching TV. While you are talking to your children, use that time to go through their back packs and ask them about their day. During your down time chats with your girlfriend on the phone, why not clip coupons or browse through the sales paper.

Fad Diets & Weight Loss

August 24, 2009

A diet may be a fad diet or a healthy diet. People often start a fad diet for fast weight loss. They do not realize that quick weight loss and a fad diet is not the answer for their weight problem. They may lose weight initially but that may not be permanent. The fad diets recommend to eat a certain group of foods and eliminate some foods or a group of foods from the diet. Such diets are not without a danger.

Some of the fad diets are:

Grapefruit Diet: This diet recommends to eat only grapefruit.

Low Carb Diet: This diet recommends to eat foods low in carbohydrates.

Low Fat Diet: This diet recommends to eat foods low in fats or eliminate fats in diet.

High Protein Diet: This diet recommends to eat only protein rich foods, eliminating carbohydrates

Note that these diets recommend to eliminate some food groups that are essential for a healthy body. These diets may offer only a temporary solution and are not based on the recommendationsof the food pyramid. On using a fad diet, you may lose weight fast, but lateron you may again gain weight and your body may be deficient in many nutrients that can develop health problems.

Nudism and Sex

August 23, 2009

I think nudism and sex does get mixed up sometimes. I think that in Europe and particularly in Germany the people are more in touch with themselves and more comfortable with nudity. I remember walking round the Englische Garten in Munich some years ago. It was full of nudists and naked people just enjoying themselves the same way in which clothed people would. No one batted an eyelid and its probably how nudism was intended to be. I cannot for the life of me imagine the same scene in London’s Hyde Park. Well I can, but it wouldn’t be pretty.

The point of nudism surely is the sense of freedom and the choice to remove clothes, go for a swim and just generally chill out. I am not sure what all the fuss is about. I wonder sometimes why people go to extraordinary lengths just to get naked even in mid winter when any fool can see its best to wrap up warm.
